Mi gu\u00eda, Julio C\u00e9sar, impecable en todo, gran compa\u00f1ero de caminata y perfecto para entender el mundo andino, y mejor persona. Pasamos 2 d\u00edas juntos ya que ped\u00ed un d\u00eda m\u00e1s en Aguas calientes y as\u00ed pude visitar Machu Picchu 2 veces y verlo entero (actualmente hay 3 rutas distintas). Nuestro gu\u00eda (Herbert) es una persona fant\u00e1stica y lo recomendar\u00eda con los ojos cerrados. \u00c9l siempre estaba cuidando de nosotros y asegur\u00e1ndose de que todo estaba bien y listo. Este viaje es el equilibrio perfecto entre caminatas desafiantes y tiempo de relax. Los peruanos somos una de las mejores personas que he conocido y que hizo que nuestro viaje fuera memorable. Ha sido todo un reto terminarlo, pero vali\u00f3 la pena el esfuerzo. Respecto a la agencia IPT no tenemos ninguna queja, m\u00e1s bien el servicio fue excelente, desde el momento de hacer la reserva hasta que nos dejaron en el tren de regreso a Ollantaytambo. We travel by tourist transport for approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes to the Ollantaytambo train station, where we board the train.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The train journey follows the Urubamba River with views of cultivated land and the Ver\u00f3nica snow-capped peak (5,800 m.a.s.l.). After 1 hour and 20 minutes we arrive at km 104, the starting point of the hike, where passports, permits, and entry tickets are presented at the first checkpoint.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We begin the hike with a visit to the first archaeological site: Chachabamba (2,100 m.a.s.l.), with explanations from the guide. From there we start an ascent of approximately 3 hours, passing waterfalls, until reaching the Wi\u00f1ay Wayna archaeological site (2,600 m.a.s.l. \/ 8,500 ft). The site preserves water fountains, temples, and agricultural terraces representative of Inca architecture.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A few minutes from Wi\u00f1ay Wayna is the dining area, where we stop for lunch and rest.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">After lunch we continue for approximately 1 hour and 20 minutes to Inti Punku. The section passes through cloud forest with ferns and a steep stretch of 50 steps, leading to the Inti Punku (Sun Gate) archaeological site, a viewpoint at 2,719 m.a.s.l. \/ 8,920 ft.
