Itinerary
DETAILED TOUR ITINERARY
We will begin our tour by picking up the group from Cusco City’s Main Square fountain at 08:00 a.m. Then on our tourist transport we will leave the City and head towards the southern area for 45 minutes, until reaching the Rumicolca Archaeological Site, where we can visit this important Inca remain that has walls made with large stones and see a part of the ancient Inca Trail that left Cusco and headed south; we will have time for amazing photos.
Afterwards, we will board our transportation again and continue for about 10 minutes until the banks of the river in Pinipampa; upon arrival, the guides in charge will provide you with the required safety equipment for rafting or canoeing (helmets, life jackets, wetsuit, windbreaker and paddles). Having provided all the safety equipment, we will begin the safety briefing, where you will be given instructions on how we should row, how to secure ourselves on the boat, swimming positions in the river, etc. Having concluded the safety talk, there will be an approximate time of 10 minutes to practice everything explained, so that everything is clear.
Then, we will enter the river accompanied by our boat Captain and begin our adventure, we will explore a beautiful section of the river with very clean waters, where we can run class I, II, III rapids; and if you want more excitement on your tour, you can jump from the foundations of the old Inca Bridge into the river.
Also, you will have the great opportunity to live the AQUALINE experience, which consists of a zipline that goes from the upper part of the Inca Bridge and falls directly into the river, this part is super safe and fun… DO YOU DARE???
The area is very quiet and ecological, during rafting you will also have the opportunity to see native birds of the area such as: blackbirds, torrent ducks, Andean ducks, mountain gulls, swallows, among others.
In addition, while we enjoy rafting we will be able to see from our boat, enormous geological formations of natural rock, also an ancient Inca bridge, we will be in the water for about 2 hours and 30 minutes, at the end the vehicle will wait for us to ride for 10 minutes until our camp house (Inti House) for our delicious lunch and hot drinks.
After lunch and a well-deserved rest, we will board our transportation back to Cusco City, where we will arrive around 04:30 p.m. and leave you at the City’s Main Square.

3. WHAT WILL THE WEATHER BE LIKE ON THE TOUR?
As throughout the Andes weather is very unpredictable, it is impossible to say exactly what type of climate we will encounter during the Tour. No matter what month you travel to enjoy Rafting and the Aqualine, always be sure to bring a waterproof jacket or a good rain poncho with you, and be ready with sunscreen at hand for a very hot day.
Despite this, you can also take into consideration our dry and rainy seasons.
During dry season (April to November), early mornings are cloudy and can be cold. As the morning hours pass, the clouds clear and Sun comes out, so it can be quite hot. Sunblock and a good hat to protect yourself from heat are essential. However, keep in mind that sometimes it can be rainy in June and sunny in December.
During rainy season (December to March), pourings will happen. However, don’t be surprised if some days are sunny. February is the month with the most rain, so we do not recommend doing this tour.
4. WHAT HAPPENS IF I GET ILL DUE TO ALTITUDE SICKNESS?
Don’t worry! All our Guides are trained in case you get sick with this condition. All our Guides carry an oxygen tank and a First Aid Kit, this ensures that you are very well evaluated and cared for, which will allow you to continue with the Trek. In addition, all our staff are prepared in case of Emergency. After being treated, if you still feel very bad and cannot continue with the hike, the Guide will make the best decision for you: whether to continue or return. For us, your Safety and Health always come first.

We understand that unexpected things happen that are out of your control, therefore, we have designed a refund plan in case you want to Cancel the Tour.
Only for 1-day tours, as is the case here, the refunds that we will make will be subject to the date of the trip cancellation decided by you, and will be applied in relation to the date before the start of the tour, according to the box below:
