INTRODUCTION
This hike is ideal for travelers who have limited time and want to take an easy and interesting excursion through the Peruvian Andes. This exciting mountain route reaches the incredible HUMANTAY LAGOON, located at 4,000 meters above sea level.
It is a unique experience where you will have the opportunity to enjoy beautiful and unparalleled landscapes. The trek starts at the place known as Soraypampa and will reach the Humantay Lagoon. You will take the best photos of the Lagoon, which has mirror-like, turquoise waters and enjoy the imposing Humantay Snowy up close.
The Humantay Lagoon is formed by the melting of a large snow-covered mountain, which in turn is part of a mountain range, called Vilcabamba.

Itinerary
DETAILED ITINERARY
- We will pick you from the hotel at 4:30am in our private transport and travel for 2 hours and 30 minutes to reach the village of Mollepata. There we will have breakfast, which is included, in a local restaurant to fill us with energy.
- We will then board our transport again and continue the journey for another approximately 40 minutes, until the area known as Soraypampa (3,900 meters above sea level) arriving at approximately 9 am.
- After a short rest, we begin our hike to the Humantay Lagoon, located at 4,300 meters above sea level, and after a steep walk of 1 hour and 30 min. approximately, we will be able to appreciate this wonderful place, admire its mirrored turquoise waters and take photos of beautiful panoramic views of the snow-capped peaks, such as Humantay and Salkantay. After a well-deserved rest, we will return trekking downhill for 1 hour, until reaching Soraypampa, at around 1 pm.
- We will then board our transport for around 40 minutes, to arrive at Mollepata village at 2pm. Lunch is at a local restaurant and then back on our transport to Cusco City, arriving at 5pm approximately.
