TRAIN EXCURSION TO MACHU PICCHU-2 DAYS/1 NIGHT
DAY 1: Cusco-Ollantaytambo-Pueblo de Aguas Calientes.
DAY 2: People of Aguas Calientes-Machu Picchu-Ollantaytambo-Cusco.
DAY 1: CUSCO-OLLANTAYTAMBO-PEOPLE OF HOT WATERS.
Highlights of the day: Travel by bus through the incomparable Sacred Valley of the Incas-Enjoy a pleasant train ride from Ollantaytambo-Enjoy the Thermal Baths in the Village of Aguas Calientes.
We will pick you up from your hotel in the City of Cusco (3400 m.s.n.m.) at 10 am., and you will be transferred in our transport for 1 and a half hour to the Train Station located in the village of Ollantaytambo (2800 m.s.n.m.), here we will tackle the train which will take us to the People of Hot Waters. In order to meet your various needs, you can choose between two different types of trains: Train Expedition and Train Vistadome-choose the service that best suits your needs when booking the tour.
The train journey has a duration of 1 hour and 40 minutes and is a very pleasant experience through beautiful landscapes with stunning views of the Mountains of Peru, until reaching the picturesque Pueblo known as Aguas Calientes (2000 m.s.n.m.) at about 2:45 pm.
When you reach the Pueblo de Aguas Calientes, at the Train Station you will be waiting for one of our representatives, which will take you to your chosen hotel. Here you will have all the afternoon to meet the Pueblo of Aguas Calientes exploring for yourself, and if you want you have the option to enjoy the People’s Medical Baths.
In the evening, in the waiting room of the Hotel our guide will give you very important information about the next day, so you will be fully prepared for your visit to Machu Picchu. Afterwards, it is advisable to go to sleep at a reasonable time in order to leave in the early hours of the morning to arrive early and visit Machu Picchu.

This is the most important day of your excursion. We will start our last and amazing day very early in order to reach Machu Picchu, before the people who are making the Inca Trail and even before the hikers who travel on the tourist trains, getting to have the possibility to enjoy the Salida del Sol in Machu Picchu. After breakfast we will leave our hotel at 5:30 am. and we will walk to the Bus Station (2000 m.s.n.m.), from here we ascend in tourist bus for 30 minutes by a way of zig zag to reach the Inca Sanctuary of Machu Picchu (2400 m.s.n.m.). So we will see this amazing place and start with our guided tour which will have an approximate duration of 2 hours with our Professional Guide, where you will explain about the history, visiting magical and interesting places that have made Machu Picchu one of the Wonders of the World. After the tour you have enough free time to take photos, walk or explore the site for yourself and you have the possibility to climb the Huayna Picchu Mountain according to availability. In the afternoon, after enjoying Machu Picchu, we will take the tourist bus down for about 25 minutes to Aguas Calientes, here you will have time to have lunch in one of the good restaurants. At around 6:00 pm. We will address the return train that will take us to the village of Ollantaytambo arriving at 7:50 pm, here our staff will be waiting for you, who will take you on Tourist Bus return to the City of Cusco arriving at 9: 30 pm. approximately, and finally we will leave you in your hotel.

3. WHY DO THE SPACES SELL OUT SO QUICKLY?

4. HOW WILL THE CLIMATE BE IN MACHU PICCHU?
The weather is very unpredictable it is impossible to say exactly what kind of weather you will find during your Tour. No matter what month trips, make sure you have to hand waterproof clothing like a waterproof jacket or a good poncho for rain.

6. WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE ARCHAEOLOGICAL SITE OF MACHU PICCHU AND THE MOUNTAIN OF MACHU PICCHU?

7. WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE HUAYNA PICCHU MOUNTAIN AND THE MACHU PICCHU MOUNTAIN?
- Huayna Picchu Mountain: The hike to the top is approximately 45 minutes, along the narrow and steep Inca stairs. Once at the top, you can see the citadel of Machu Picchu and its surroundings. This is the famous peak at the bottom of every iconic photo of Machu Picchu. At the summit, Huayna Picchu is always a top topic on most of the visitors ‘ lists from Machu Picchu, which means you generally need to book months in advance. Only a certain amount of people can walk this mountain each day. Along this hike, you will see stunning views of the ruins of Machu Picchu. The limited amount of tickets is a limit set by the culture ministry in Cusco, not by Salkantay Trekking. This is completely out of our hands unfortunately. - Montaña Machu Picchu: The hike to its top is about 1.5 hours. Once at the top, you get a much higher point of view, so you have an amazing view of the Citadel of Machu Picchu and its surroundings. This hike is a great alternative to Huayna Picchu. Ideal for those who don’t want the hassle of fighting for a ticket, or who couldn’t get one. Technically, the spaces for Machu Picchu Mountain are also limited to 400 per day, but rarely run out. We simply need to reserve a space when we purchase their tickets from entry. This hike is great because it will also take you high as Huayna Picchu, which offers excellent views. - INFANT: USD $0.00 (Between 0 and 2 years of age. For free, travelling with your parents).
2. MACHU PICCHU WITH VISTADOME TRAIN
- ADULT: USD $460.00 (From 18 years to above).
- STUDENT: USD $440.00 (Between 9 and 25 years of age-For this price, you must email us a scanned copy of the Student Carnet).
- NINO: USD $380.00 (Between 3 and 8. Years of age-For this price, you must send us a copy of the passport.
- INFANT: USD $0.00 (Between 0 and 2 years of age. For free, travelling with your parents).
OPTIONAL SERVICES
If you want, for an additional cost you have the option to add to your trip some extra services such as:
