INTRODUCTION
This great adventure begins in Cusco City and we know that it will satisfy the most demanding travelers and will truly make unforgettable memories, through preserved and wild nature with crystal clear rivers, in addition to having the best panoramic views of the entire region, to reach the Cachicata Quarry and the incredible Sungate.
On this exciting walk we will visit Cachicata, the mountain where the most important Inca quarry of Ollantaytambo is located, which provided huge blocks of stone for the construction of the temples and palaces in this village. We will be able to appreciate an elaborate network of paths, ramps and slides, which connected to the main construction areas. We will also visit the Sungate, known locally as Inti Punku, located at the top of Cachicata; according to oral tradition, it was a sacred place of spiritual retreat and gratitude to their Gods.

Itinerary
DETAILED ITINERARY
Our tour begins by picking you up at the hotel at 5:00 am and then we continue by tourist transport to the village of Ollantaytambo, for 1 hour and 30 minutes. Arriving in this small and picturesque place, we will stop to enjoy a good breakfast at a local restaurant and buy hydrating drinks, snacks and use the bathrooms.
After our delicious breakfast we will continue for about 10 minutes, with our transport and we will arrive at the area known as Puente Inca (Hike Head), where our Guide will give us an introduction, recommendations and precautions before starting our excursion. At the beginning of the walk it will be gradual and then we will have an ascent, lasting approximately 4 hours, until we reach the Cachicata quarry. This walk follows the original route that the Incas used to transport stones from the Cachicata Quarry, to build one of the most famous archaeological sites in the Sacred Valley, the Ollantaytambo Fortress.
Upon arrival we will enjoy our Box Lunch and after a good rest we will explore the Cachicata Quarry, where we will be able to appreciate the remains of Inca tombs, the best stone work and the ramps that were used to transport the stones to build Ollantaytambo. The guide will explain the process of working and transporting the rocks.
After visiting the Cachicata Quarry, we will continue climbing for another hour, to visit the sector known as the Sun Gate or Inti Punku, considered an enigmatic place due to its orientation towards the snowy Veronica, a place also used as a spiritual center in the Inca period, we will have free time to take pictures and explore this magical place.
After enjoying a peaceful moment in contact with nature, we will begin our return journey, which will be a descent of about 3 hours to the village of Cachicata, where our transport will be waiting to take us back to cusco City, arriving at approximately 6pm.

Tips are not mandatory, there is no exact amount. Only if you wish, at the end of the tour you can tip for the guides, cooks and porters. As you can see, this is something additional and totally voluntary, really what you give will be greatly appreciated by our Staff.
4. WHAT HAPPENS IF I GET ILL DUE TO ALTITUDE SICKNESS?
Don’t worry!. All our Guides are trained in case you get sick with altitude. All our Guides carry an oxygen tank and a First Aid Kit, this ensures that you are very well evaluated and cared for, which will allow you to continue the Hike. In addition, all our staff are prepared in case of Emergency. After being treated, if you still feel very bad and cannot continue with the hike, the Guide will make the best decision for you whether to continue or return. For us, your Safety and Health always come first.
5. IF I ALREADY PAID MY FIRST FEE AND DECIDE TO CANCEL, WILL I BE REFUNDED?
Unfortunately No. We will not be able to make any type of refund, but we can change the date or change the tour, always with advance notice. All Pre-Payments are non-refundable because they are immediately used to organize and secure the Tour.
