Itinerary
DAY 1: CUSCO CITY – CUSIPATA – RAINBOW MOUNTAIN – CUSCO CITY
Pick up 4:30 am. and 5:00 a.m. from your Hotel in Cusco City, then leave town and head south in our Tourist Transportation on a paved road, arriving at the village of Cusipata, where we will enjoy a delicious breakfast in a local restaurant, this ride lasts 2 hours.
After enjoying breakfast, we will continue the trip on our transportation along an unpaved road, but in good condition, for 1 more hour until reaching the area known as Phullawasipata (Trek Head – end of the unpaved road). This spot is located on the lands of the Chilliwani Peasant Community. We will arrive there around 8:30 am.
Upon arriving at the Trek Head, the Guide will give us an introductory talk about the place and the route, at around 9:00 am we will start our walk; first it will be with a slight climb for about 30 minutes, during this journey we will have the chance to see flocks of South American camelids such as the llama and the alpaca, also some small birds typical of the area.
Then the path is flat for about 40 minutes, along the route we will have a brief break and take the chance to eat our snacks. Afterwards we continue the walk for a last climb of about 20 more minutes.
And finally after 1 hour and 30 minutes of hiking, at approximately 10:30 am. we will be arriving at our main destination, the fabulous Rainbow Mountain, a unique place that Mother Nature capriciously formed as if it were a great work of art. If we are lucky we will have the chance to spot the largest flying bird in the world, the amazing Condor.
At Rainbow Mountain we will have enough time to take the best photos, listen to the explanations of our friendly Guide, also take the opportunity to rest and eat our snacks. From there we will have the best panoramic views of the Ausangate Snowy, and after an hour enjoying this magical and beautiful place, we will return to Phullawasipata.
We will leave the Rainbow Mountain at around 11:30 am. and descend for 1 hour and thirty minutes. The hike goes down until reaching the place known as Phullawasipata. At this place our Tourist Transportation will be waiting, to take us to the village of Cusipata, for a refreshing Buffet Lunch at a local restaurant.
After our restorative and delicious lunch, we will board our transportation again, which will take us back to Cusco City, arriving around 5:00 pm.

1. IS WATER INCLUDED IN THE TOUR?
Yes, we know that hydration during hiking is very important, so you don’t need to worry about this. Our staff will provide you with water during the Hike. On the other hand, during the trek you will also find small shops selling bottles of water. So don’t worry!… There will always be clean and safe water to drink.
2. HOW DO I BOOK THIS TOUR?

Yes, for this Tour we offer discounts and special rates for infants, children and students.
- Infants under 2 years old in the company of their parents travel for free.
- Children and students up to 18 years old have a discount by simply sending a scanned copy of the Passport at the time of the Reservation.
4. HOW MUCH SHOULD I TIP THE GUIDE?
Tips are not mandatory, there is no exact amount. Only if you wish, at the end of the tour you can tip the tour guide, cooks and porters. As you can see, this is something additional and totally voluntary, really what you consider will be greatly appreciated by our Service Staff.
5. WHAT HAPPENS IF I GET ILL DUE TO ALTITUDE SICKNESS?
Don’t worry! All our Guides are trained in case you get sick with this condition. All our Guides carry an oxygen tank and a First Aid Kit, this ensures that you are very well evaluated and cared for, which will allow you to continue with the Trek. In addition, all our staff are prepared in case of Emergency. After being treated, if you still feel very bad and cannot continue with the hike, the Guide will make the best decision for you: whether to continue or return. For us, your Safety and Health always come first.
6. IF I ALREADY PAID MY ONLY FEE AND DECIDE TO CANCEL, WILL I BE REFUNDED?
Unfortunately No. We will not be able to make any type of refund, but we can change the date or change the tour, with proper advance notice. All Pre-Payments of USD$200.00 are non-refundable because your pre-payment secures the trip for you.
We understand that unexpected things happen that are out of your control, but cannot make exceptions. You can read more about our Change and Cancellation Policies.
7. DO I NEED TO BRING ADDITIONAL MONEY TO THE TOUR?
Yes, only if you want to buy snacks such as cookies, dried fruit, chocolates, etc. or an additional drink such as soda, beer or an energy beverage, because it is possible to purchase these products in small stores in the area.
Also, if you want to buy any souvenirs of the trip, you can do it on the route. For all this, we recommend that you bring between 150 and 300 Peruvian soles. You may not need to spend any of this money, but in the event of an Emergency, you should make sure to have enough cash.
